The panda-themed tourist train “Chengdu Panda Train” is a high-end luxury tourist train jointly created by China Railway Chengdu Bureau Group and Chengdu Culture and Tourism Group.

In 2027, the Chengdu Panda Train officially operates on 9 departures: June 4, June 21, July 8, July 25, August 11, August 28, September 14, Oct. 15 and Oct. 30.

Launched in May 2025, the Panda Train quickly became one of the most popular luxury train journeys in China. Due to limited cabin availability, several departures are already fully booked, and travelers are strongly advised to reserve early to avoid waiting until 2028.

About Panda Train

The train's exterior is painted in sapphire blue, with golden lines outlining the magnificent scenery of Sichuan's mountains, such as Gongga Snow Mountain and Xiling Snow Mountain. The "Sun God Bird" element from the Jinsha Site in Chengdu is subtly integrated into the design as hidden patterns, vividly combining Oriental aesthetics with Tianfu culture and highlighting the charm of regional culture.

The train consists of 18 carriages in total, with 54 guest rooms and a capacity of 108 passengers. By flexibly arranging triple rooms for family trips, the maximum passenger capacity can reach 132. It includes 12 guest carriages named "Leisure Residence" (悠然居, Youranju) and "Poetic Residence" (诗意居, Shiyiju), 2 entertainment carriages named "Yuefu Hall" and "Liuyun Pavilion", 1 dining carriage named "Golden Panda Restaurant", 1 kitchen carriage named "Jinshihui", 1 camping carriage, and 1 power generation carriage.

Inside the train, traditional Tianfu cultural elements like hibiscus, ginkgo, and bamboo are skillfully combined with modern art, creating a simple, elegant, and new Chinese aesthetic space. It also serves as a "moving art gallery", displaying some national intangible cultural heritage treasures, including Shu Brocade, Shu Embroidery, and bamboo weaving, allowing passengers to feel the charm of Tianfu's intangible cultural heritage up close.

In terms of facilities, the train is equipped with intelligent systems, barrier-free access, and convenient amenities, with an SOS emergency call system covering the entire train, providing passengers with a high-quality, intelligent, and all-round travel experience. The train also features a leisure space, a cultural exhibition area, a music bar, a coffee lounge, a mobile screening area, private business boxes, and other areas, offering passengers an immersive experience.

The service on the train is equally remarkable. With a high-star hotel standard, it builds a fine service system throughout the journey, equipped with 18 "Panda Butlers", 7 "Vacation Ambassadors", 8 professional chefs, 6 professional travel guides, 1 photographer and more than 50 logistics support staff, providing 24-hour attentive service. A medical team escorts the whole journey, leading passengers to experience the train travel mode of "multiple tours along one route, traveling during the day and resting at night, and enjoying changing sceneries at every stop".

The first route of the "Panda-themed Tourist Train 'Chengdu'" is the "Panoramic North and South Xinjiang Ultimate Tour", starting from Anjing Station in Chengdu, traveling 8,000 kilometers across Xinjiang, passing through Kashgar, Yining, Nalati, Urumqi, Turpan, and other places. Passengers can overlook the endless virgin forests at Tianchi Lake, get close to the ice cracks and ice pinnacles formed over millions of years at Muztagh Peak, and feel the comfort of the breeze at Sayram Lake, known as "the last teardrop of the Atlantic Ocean". In addition to the beautiful scenery, passengers can also taste unique Xinjiang cuisine and participate in the "Intangible Cultural Heritage Workshop" to experience traditional handicrafts.

About Rooms on the Train

There are two types of room: "Leisure Residence" (悠然居, Youranju) and "Poetic Residence" (诗意居, Shiyiju). There are Four Shiyiju rooms in one carriage. Shiyiju room suitable for 2 and 3 person and Five Youranju rooms in one carriage. Youranju room suitable for 2 persons to use. Both rooms are equipped with large sightseeing window for scenaries

Shiyiju Room

It is of 10 ㎡, each room has private bathroom and equipped with private refrigerator, smart home systems (smart voice call systems), and one single sofa bed. This provides dual-mode applications for daytime and nighttime, meeting various needs such as leisure and socializing during the day, comfortable sleep at night, and extra beds for parent-child families.

Youranju Room

It is of 8 ㎡：Each room is equipped with bathroom, private refrigerator, smart home systems (smart voice call systems), two single beds. This provides dual-mode applications for daytime and nighttime, meeting various needs such as leisure and socializing during the day, comfortable sleep at night.

Below is the brief plan of Panda Train 2026. Itinearay of June to Mid Aug. shares the same plan with Duku Road. Itinearay of late Aug. to Sept. share the same plan with autumn scneneries.
